We are so excited to have our first finished project in this house! We are really happy with the way our bathroom turned out and can’t wait to show you! But first, let’s remember what the bathroom looked like when we moved in.
The walls were wallpapered and painted green. The bathtub was green and the floors had an original mosaic tile. The toilet was fairly new. On move in day, we could only use one of the sinks in the double vanity as one was leaking. Here is a (rather blurry) shot of the crooked vanity cabinet and one of the avacado sinks from our home inspection:
This whole bathroom renovation started one day when Jake decided to replace only the caulking around the tub, I wrote about it here.
Once the tub, sinks, and subfloor were out, we had a plumber install a beautiful Kohler Archer soaking tub and drain and re-set the plumbing to where it would need to be for the new tub. We installed a new mosaic tile floor, tiled the shower surround, and extended the subway tile to the complete the wall with the window to make a pretty accent. We built and installed a new vanity with cool farmhouse vessel sinks, found some kick-butt mirrors, and put in new trim, doors, and a new toilet. We are very pleased with how it turned out, I’ll let the photos tell the story:
And for posterity:
If you want more info and haven’t already read about our journey, you can read about demo here, installing the tub here, tiling here, and trimming here. Annnddd…here is the article about building the vanity.
It is great to have one room done! Have you ever tackled a big bathroom project?
